7. Export

7.1. Clipboard

You can export to the clipboard in two ways:

  1. Select the shapes you want to export and choos Edit > Copy from the menu bar. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Command-C. You can adjust the settings when copying in the Clipboard tab in the Preferences window.
  2. Select the shapes you want to export, open the export sheet by pressing the Export button in the toolbar and then press the Copy button.

7.2. Export Sheet

7.2.1. Common Options

  • Include selected shapes only: If this setting is off, all shapes in the canvas are included, otherwise only the currently selected shapes.
  • Trim whitespace padding: This setting is only effective when the whole canvas is included (i.e., include selected shapes only is off). If trimming of whitespace padding is enabled, then any whitespace surrounding the shapes will be removed.
  • Vertical grid lines: Controls whether vertical grid lines appear in the output.
  • Horizontal gird lines: Controls whether vertical grid lines appear in the output.

7.2.2. Plain Text-specific Options

  • Trim trailing whitespace: any whitespace at the end of lines will be removed.
  • Wrap in: controls whether the output is wrapped in an HTML <pre> tag.
  • “Created by Monodraw” footer: controls whether a footer is inserted.
  • Comment Style: allows for any text to be decorated.
  • Comment Padding: specifies padding for the currently selected comment style.
